Things About Me #98

I love movies. As some of you know, I’m a self-proclaimed movie buff. Not a day goes by that I don’t quote a movie or make a movie-reference or do a re-enactment of a scene.Seriously.

Anyone who spends any reasonable amount of time with me would get lost with so many of the movies I refer to on a daily basis. Life is all one big inside joke to me.

But the reason why I say self-proclaimed is because there’s still a heck of a lot of movies out there that I haven’t seen.

On a side note: why is it that the shocked reaction that people have whenever they find out that you haven’t seen a movie you should have is never shown in any other type of situation?

You know what I mean….the whole, “I haven’t seen Animal House.”

*gasp!*

“You haven’t seen Animal House?! You haven’t seen Animal House?”

People become hearing-impaired and they have to immediately ask you to reaffirm that you in fact did NOT see the movie. That or they think you’re retarded. Either way, I think shocked reactions like that should be reserved for truly shocking moments, like the time I found out my best friend Nina had NEVER heard of Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative.”

Now THAT’S shocking! But a missed movie? Not so shocking. There are a bazillion movies out there, get over it.

I love movie spoofs. One of my recent favorites is “Scary Movie 3.” I know it’s a terrible movie, but I love that they spoofed some of my favorite scary flicks, “The Ring,” “The Others,” and “Signs.” That and it’s got Charlie Sheen! Who else could spoof a movie better than Charlie?

Oh, I stand corrected. Mel Brooks’ “High Anxiety” is an homage to Hitchcock classics like “The Birds”, “Psycho” and “Vertigo”. Plus, Madeline Kahn was brilliant, as always, in this movie. I’m sorry, please forgive me. I’m just SO close to my menstrual cycle that I could SCREAM!

Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yeah, being a movie buff. I love movie trivia. One of my favorite movie sites is Filmwise. These are the same guys who created that DVD game, “Scene It!” If you are anything like me, capable of spaztic reactions to time-pressured questions about movies, then you’ll love this game. Can any of you tell me the titles of the four movies below? You have 30 seconds. Coincidentally, two of the movies here are on my top five.
